Cannavibes Launches a New Website and Expanded Rewards Program
Cannavibes is making three major updates designed to improve the way our customers shop and use Rewa...
As the holidays approach, most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday but in the cannabis world, Green Wednesday is the real shopping event. Celebrated the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Green Wednesday has quickly become one of the largest cannabis sale days of the year, with shoppers stocking up for the long weekend, family gatherings, and the stress-relief the holidays often bring.
At Cannavibes Dispensary in Elmwood Park, NJ, Green Wednesday is one of our favorite days to celebrate with our community. It’s the perfect time for customers to discover new products, take advantage of major discounts, and elevate their holiday season with premium cannabis.
Green Wednesday is a surprisingly recent addition to the cannabis calendar. The term was first coined by the online cannabis marketplace Eaze around 2016, when data showed a huge spike in cannabis sales the day before Thanksgiving. Consumers were stocking up for:
● Long holiday travel
● Social gatherings
● Stressful family events
● Relaxing after cooking (or before dealing with relatives!)
Brands and dispensaries quickly caught on, and Green Wednesday became an unofficial cannabis holiday similar to 4/20, but focused on shopping and savings rather than consumption.
Today, Green Wednesday is often the second-highest sales day of the year, coming in right behind 4/20.
Green Wednesday continues to grow because it sits at the perfect intersection of convenience, timing, and tradition. Here’s why it’s become a massive event in the cannabis industry:
People are traveling, hosting, and preparing for a long weekend. Stocking up on cannabis becomes part of the “holiday prep list.”
Let’s be honest…family gatherings can be a lot. Many shoppers look for products like pre-rolls, edibles, tinctures, or calming strains to help take the edge off.
For many groups of friends or siblings, sharing cannabis has become a Thanksgiving week tradition right up there with watching football, baking pies, or the infamous “Thanksgiving Eve” outings. Who doesn’t love a cousin walk?
Green Wednesday deals are often some of the best of the year, with dispensaries offering deep markdowns, mix-and-match bundles, BOGOs, and limited-time product drops.
Many consumers see Green Wednesday as the start of the cannabis holiday shopping season, where they buy early gifts or stock up for December.
At Cannavibes, Green Wednesday is one of our biggest celebrations of the year and we’re bringing it with incredible deals on flower, edibles, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, tinctures, and more. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or gifting cannabis to someone special this holiday season, it’s the perfect day to save big.
